Dr. John Lee

Dr. John Lee graduated from NUI Galway in 2010. He then graduated the GP Training scheme in 2012. He has completed a diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr. Lee has also completed a diploma in Sports and Exercise medicine. He has a keen interest in sports injuries.

Dr. John King

Dr. John King

Dr. King joined the practice in 2020. A Galway native, he is a graduate of medicine from NUIG in 2010. He gained emergency medicine experiense as a registrar in the Emergency Department of Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe for a year. He then completed his General Practice training on the Ballinasloe GP Training Scheme, rotating through Paediatrics, General Medicine, Psychiatry and Obstetrics/Gynaecology.

With his surgical and emergency medicine experience he has a particular interest in sports and minor injuries management, wound care and suturing and minor surgical procedures such as ingrowing toenail management, mole/skin lesion removal and cryotherapy for warts/skin tags. He has completed post graduate training in dermatology and sports injuries/joint and bone health. He completed a diploma in dermoscopy via the Cardiff University to help in the assessment of moles and skin cancers.

He has also completed the Irish College of General Practitioners’ Diploma in Musculoskeletal Health and is experienced in joint and muscle related issues and steroid joint injections where indicated. He is a registered smear taker as part of the HSEs cervical smear screening programme and is proficient in contraceptive impant/bar insertion and removal.

Dr. Antoinette Dolan

Dr. Antoinette Dolan

Dr. Antoinette graduated with a medical degree from NUI Galway in 1990. On completing a two-year medical/paediatric rotation, she began her undergraduate training with the Western GP training scheme. She obtained further qualifications in womens health, childhood health, diabetes and Allergies. Dr. Dolan has a certificate in family planning (including insertion of the Mirena, IUD and Implanon). She is a registered smear taker as part of the HSEs cervical smear screening programme.

Nurse Karen O’Connell

Karen O’Connell (Nurse)

Karen qualified in 2010 with a Bachelor of Nursing degree from University College Dublin and the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital. Karen worked as a staff nurse and then Nurse Manager 1 in the Galway Clinic before joining the practice in 2021.

Orla Walsh (Nurse)

Orla qualified in 2017 with a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of West London. She worked as an A&E nurse in the UK For five years and returned home to Tuam. She joined the practice in 2023. Her specialist interests include cervical screening, childhood immunisations, Chronic disease management, Health Promotion and wound care.
